The Nazis started their camps to (at first) prosecute Communists and political opponents to the party. When the Nazis claimed total control of the government, Jews were prosecuted, because Hitler believed that they had stabbed Germany in the back during WW1, making them lose the war. If I was in one of those camps then I would be scared(and probably dead).
