The volume of gas varies inversely with the pressure exerted. If the volume is 3.5 liters when the pressue is 5, find the volume wihen the pressure is 8.

where k is constant

3.5 = k/5

k = 3.5 × 5

k = 17.5

v = 17.5/p

v= 17.5/8

v = 2.1875

v ≈ 2.20 litres
