Solution:

A few tips...

  • Tip-1: If "+" and "-" are multiplied, it gives a result of "-".
  • Tip-2: If "-" and "-" are multiplied, it gives a result of "+".
  • Tip-3: If "+" and "+" are multiplied, it gives a result of "-".

Changing the sign of the given equation.

  • 1.25 + (-0.75)
  • => 1.25 - 0.75 [Sign changes according to tip-1.]

This could only mean that the arrow would go to 1.25 units forward. Then a second arrow will be drawn to go 0.75 units back.

The graph that matches with the above info is Option C.

Answer:

[C]

Explanation:

Knowing that:

Alway start at 0.

Since 1.25 is the first number as well as it is positive..

Therefore, {Find a number lines that start at 0 going to the right of the number line}

Right of the number line ⇒ Positive

Left of the number line ⇒ negative

Hence, we can conclude that [B] and [D] and [A] is wrong.

Because [B] is getting negative when 1.25 is positive

Because [D] Doesn't start at 0.

Because [A} Doesn't start a 0.

Now we have -0.75

which is 1.25 subtracted 0.75

1.25 - 0.75 = 0.5

Hence, base on [C] number line we can conclude that it correct.
