\huge\mathbf{Answer࿐}

\underline{ \underline{ \bf{step} - 1}}

Taking first equation,

  • 2x + y = 20

  • y = 20 - 2x

\underline{ \underline{ \bf{step} - 2}}

plugging the value of y in second equation,

  • 6x - 5y = 12

  • 6x - 5(20 - 2x) = 12

  • 6x - 100 + 10x = 12

  • 16x = 12 + 100

  • x = (112)/(16)

  • x = 7

\underline{ \underline{ \bf{step} -3}}

plugging the value of x in first equation,

  • 2x + y = 20

  • (2 * 7) + y = 20

  • 14 + y = 20

  • y = 20 - 14

  • y = 6

Conclusion :

  • x = 7

  • y = 6
