Answer:

The mean of A and C is equal to 10.

Explanation:

We know that,

\text{Mean}=\frac{\text{Sum of observations}}{\text{Total no of obervations}}

The mean of A and B is 20,

A+B=20\\\\A+B=40\ \ .........(1)

The mean of B and C is 24,

B+C=24* 2\\\\B+C=48\ \ .........(2)

The mean of A,B and C is 18,

A+B+C=18* 3\\\\A+B+C=54\ .....(3)

Put the value of A+B from (1) in (3),

C = 14

Put the value of B+C from (2) in (3)

A = 6

Mean of A and C is :

M=(A+C)/(2)\\\\M=(14+6)/(2)\\\\M=10

So, the mean of A and C is equal to 10.
