Given:

The exponential function is:

y=190(1.471)^x

To find:

The percentage of increase or decrease.

Solution:

The general exponential function is:

y=a(1+r)^x ...(i)

Where, a is the initial value,t is the time period, r is the rate of increase if
r>0 and r is the rate of decrease if
r<0.

We have,

y=190(1.471)^x

It can be written as:

y=190(1+0.471)^x ...(ii)

On comparing (i) and (ii), we get

r=0.471

Since
r>0, therefore the given function is an increasing function.

r\%=0.471* 100

r\%=47.1\%

Therefore, the percentage of increase is 47.1%.
