Search engines have become an active part of our lives. Why I say active is because these days search engines are performing more than just one task. Even if we look at the main task that search engines perform, i.e. providing information, just look at the function they perform for us. In our automated world, information is power. On a daily basis we come in contact with millions of small facts and figures. Some we require, some we don’t. Some we use immediately, some we look up later. Fact is search engines essentially help us remember and retrieve critical pieces of information as and when we need them.
Search engines basically act as filters, allowing the users to search the internet for information using keywords. Without these search engines the information on the internet could essentially become indecipherable. The main goal of search engines is to unwind this information and provide relevant information, but this is by no means the only service that search engines can provide.
