All of the items in a bicycle shop are on sale for 30% off the regular price. Rene spends $74.90 to buy a bicycle and a helmet (without taxes). If the regular price of the bicycle is $85, which equation can be used to find the regular price of the helmet, h?

0.3 (74.90 + h) = 85
0.3 (85 + h) = 74.90
0.7 (74.90 + h) = 85
0.7 (85 + h) = 74.90

HOW WOULD U FIGURE THIS OUT

(85 + h) = 74.90

Explanation:

74.90 is the price of bicycle AND helmet

together AFTER 30% discount.

Before discount bicycle was 85

.Before discount helmet was h

So sum is 85 + h

This sum should be discounted 30% to get our

discounted price (which is 74.9)

Discounting something by 30% means

multiplying that thing by 1 - 0.3 = 0.7

So now we have 0.7 multiplied with the sum of

85+ h,which will give us 74.9. This in equation

is

0.7(85 + h) = 74.90

Answer choice D is correct.
