How do you find the distance between points (5,1), (4,0)?

Write out a graph love. Visuals are super helpful. Mark the points. Then count between them :))

Answer:

To find the hypotenuse, you would use the formula a^2 + B^2 = C^2

That is the formula for the pythagorean theorem.

I suggest you first plot it on a graph, then could the units on the sides that make up the legs.

When you plot it, the legs are both 1 unit.

so it would be, following the formula:

1^2 + 1^2 = c^2

1 x 1 + 1 x 1 = c^2

2 = c^2

Then you square root:

√2 = √c^2

1.41421356 = c

1.41421356 rounded to the nearest tenth is 1.4.

So the length of (5,1), (4,0) is ≈1.4
