PLEASE HELP :)

This dot plot is symmetric, and the data set has no
extreme values
What is the best measure of center for this dot plot?
A. The smallest value
B. Either the mean or the median
C. The interquartile range (IQR)
O D. The mean absolute deviation (MAD)

Answer:

B. Either the mean or the median

Explanation:

The given data in the dot plot are;

The number of data points at 7 on the number line = 3 data points

The number of data points at 8 on the number line = 5 data points

The number of data points at 9 on the number line = 3 data points

The mean = (3 × 7+ 5 × 8 + 3 × 9)/11 = 8

The median = The value of the (11 + 1)/2 th = The value of the 6th data point

Therefore, the median = 8

Therefore, given that the distribution of the data points are symmetrical about the number 8 on the number line (5 points at 8 and 3 points each at 7 and 9) the best measure of the center for the dot plot is the mean or the median.
