For all shapes, the surface area will go up by a factor of 9 (3^2). This is true of spheres, cones, cubes, pyramids, torusses, everything.

The surface area of any body is proportional to the square of any linear dimension. Triple a linear dimension and you get a 9 fold increase in surface area. This is as true for pretzels as it is for spheres and cubes.
