A clothing company produced 1400 items of clothing. Of those,

15% were jackets, 35% were dresses, and 20% were shoes.
How many of the items of clothing were NOT jackets, dresses, or shoes?

1400 x 0.15 = 210
1400 x 0.35 =490
1400 x 0.20 = 280
.2 + .15 + .35 = 0.70
1400 x .70 = 980
1400- 980 = 420
420 items were not jackets dresses or shoes
