Answer:

A is the truth

One trick that helps me memorize the placement of the atoms in each state is how the state acts. For example)

Solid, looks tough rigid. A group of Knight made a strong SOLID barrier by grouping together. So you assume that Solid has atoms that are close together

so knight (atoms) together = solid

Liquid, look at how wobbly it is, the knights are running together so their shield is NO LONGER SOLID. You assume that it is liquid cause they are all around, yet they are still together.

so knight (atoms) all around the place together = liquid

Now gases, they are crazy, they go everywhere. The knights are running their own separate way.

So knights (atoms) running everywhere = gases

Hope that answers your question.

Wish the examples were written better tho.

i believe it’s A — atoms in solids are closest together, atoms in liquids are close, but not as compact as in solids, and atoms in gasses aren’t close are all, and they’re constantly moving.
