A surveyor is 100 feet from a building. He finds the angle of elevation to the top of the building is 23 degrees. If the surveyor’s eyelevel is 5.3 feet above the ground, find the height of the building.

47.7 ft

Explanation:

tan= o/a

tan(23)= x/100

x=100/tan(23)

x= 42.4

42.4 + 5.3 = 47.7
