60 POINTS literacy rate of a developing country is very low. Explain why this may create a challenge for the citizens of this country to successfully practice the American model of democracy.

Well, in most cases low education rate would never be good, in this case literacy is worse then some like mathematics. Main reason is because those citizens are in a position to show what democracy is truly but they were not properly educated to show it. Plus decision making and solving problems might be more of a struggle for them in some cases, simple things in life that include math might be harder for them which gives democracy a negative light. In any way improper education can have a negative and false effect on outsiders looking at the country or whatever is representing the citizens.

Literacy in developing countries are low due to the fact that most families and people can't afford even public education. The reason it makes it hard for citizens of this country to successfully practice the American model of democracy is because they would not be as educated enough to make proper decisions since they lack proper education.
