coat and a pair of boots are on sale
for 20% off.
The regular price of the coat is $250.
The regular price of the boots is $170.

Kayla wants to buy both the coat and
the boots. How much will she pay if she buys them during the sale?

Explanation:

20% can be split into 2 10%

so to find 10% of a number U move the decimal point 1 place left

so 10% of 250 = 25, therefore 20% must equal

25 + 25 = 50. 20% of 250 is 50

and by doing the same this we find that 20% of 170 is 34

now minus the percentage from the original tO get the new price of both items


250 - 50 = 200


170 - 34 = 136

now add both 136 and 200 together to get the price she will pay for both on sale


200 + 136 = 336
