The shape above is a trapezium, so we are going to use the formula for the area of a trapezium which is,


area = ((a + b)/(2) )h

Plugging in our values,


area = ( (2 + 8)/(2) ) * 3 = ( (10)/(2) ) * 3 = 5 * 3 = 15 {cm}^(2)

So the area will be


15 {cm}^(2)
