Answer:

-(3)/(20)

Explanation:

GIVEN :-

  • One of the two rational numbers =
    -(9)/(20)

TO FIND :-

  • Sum of two rational numbers =
    -(3)/(5)

SOLUTION :-

Let the another rational number be 'x'.

According to the question , the equation formed will look like this :-

x + (-(9)/(20) ) = -(3)/(5)

=> x - (9)/(20) = -(3)/(5)

Now solve the equation.

  • Add
    (9)/(20) to both the sides of equation in order to isolate 'x'.

=> x - (9)/(20) + (9)/(20) = -(3)/(5) + (9)/(20)

=> x = (9)/(20) - (3)/(5) = (9 - (3 * 4))/(20) = (9 - 12)/(20) = (-3)/(20)

Answer:

-3/20

Explanation:

Let other number = x

∴ -9/20 + x = -3/5

∴ x = -3/5 + 9/20

∴ x = -3/20

Hope this helps :) !!!!
