Is this written well?

War is a topic that can be both sensitive and controversial. Many people have different views and perspectives on this topic as well as personal experiences. A war such as The Vietnam War affected many people’s lives and caused damage to people's families, livelihood, and etc. This war lasted from 1955 to 1975. Many people that were affected by this war wrote stories, articles, and many other forms of art to describe and tell about their experiences and views on the Vietnam war. In “ The Things They Carried” former Vietnam Soldier Tim O’Brien argues how war can be both terrifying and peaceful, yet in “Condemnation” Thich Nhat Hanh argues that there is no good in war and that war shouldn’t be a thing.
