Explanation:

We know that the sum of the interior angles of a triangle is 180 degrees

The exterior angles shown form a straight line with the corresponding interior angle

So the two interior angles can be calculated

The sum of two angles on a straight line is 180 degrees

By subtracting the exterior angles from 180, we can get the two interior angles which we can add to the angle at P to give 180

Thus;

P + (180-162) + (180-149) = 180

P + 18 + 31 = 180

P = 180-31-18

P = 131
