Actually Welcome to the concept of Pythagoras theorem.

so, we get as,

==> (14)^2 + r^2 = (7+r) ^2

==> 196 + r^2 = 49 + 14r + r^2

=> cancelling r^2 from both sides, we get as,

==> 196 = 49 + 14r

==> 14r = 196-49

==> 14r = 147

==> r = 147/14 = 10.5

==> r = 10.5 units,

hence, r = 10.5 units

Answer:

r=10.5

Explanation:

  • (r+7)^2=r^2+14^2

  • r^2+14r^2+49=r^2+196

  • 14r=196-49

  • 14r=147

  • r=147/14

  • r=10.5
