→ Slope ( m ) = ( y₂ - y₁) / ( x₂ - x ₁ )

  • The points here are (-7,-3) and (-1,y) . Using formula of the slope , we have ,

→ m = -3 - y / -7 - (-1)

→ 1 = -(3+y)/ -7+1

→ 1 = -(3+y) / -6

→ 6 = 3 + y

→ y = 6 - 3

y = 3

Hence the value of y is 3 .
