the number of chromosomes in a normal body cell is 46. each cell contains 23 pairs.

Diploid 2n
That is all body cells have 46 chromosomes in 2 pairs which is 2n. Diploid means two.
Haploid means all sex cells have 23 chromosomes.
Haploid means half
