The unit rate in this case would be 6.6 miles over 1 hour. Or 33/5 over 1. Just say like a truck or car was going this speed.

The unit rate is 5/33 miles per hour

Using the parameters given for our Calculation;

  • 11/3 miles = 5/9 hours

The unit rate refers to the time taken to travel a distance of 1 mile .

We can obtain the unit rate thus ;

11/3 = 5/9

1 = r

cross multiply

11r/3 = 5/9

cross multiply

11r * 9 = 5 * 3

99r = 15

r = 15/99 = 5/33 hours

The unit rate is 5/33 miles per hour
