We have to get rid of the 13. (the denominator)

How?

By multiplying 2 sides by 13

Remember the Rules of Maths:

1. Whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other.

2. Use the opposite operation.

So, we used Rule 2 to get rid of the 13.

Now:

x=10*13

(On the left side, the 13s cancel)

x=130

It is always a great idea to double-check

Does 130 divided by 13 equal 10?
