Beth is covering a cylinder can't create a pencil container for a test. The cat is 15 cm tall and has a diameter of 7 cm. How much paper what she need to cover only the sides of the can.

To do this, we simply calculate the surface area of the cylinder (without considering the top and bottom)

This is calculated as:


A = 2\pi rh

Where


r = (d)/(2)


r = (7)/(2)= 3.5

The formula becomes


A = 2 * 3.14 *3.5 *15
