Use the distributive property to create an equivalent expression to 4x + 22.

4x + 22
2 (2x + 11)
2 (2x + 10)

If written as distributive property it would be b. 2(2x+11)... If written in expanded form it’ll be a. 4x+22 so it can’t be expanded further then that.

If the question is asking you to use distributive property on 4x+22 you can’t since it can’t be expanded any further.. so it’ll be A.

If they want you to revert it back it’ll be B.

Answer:

2 ( 2x + 11)

Explanation:

all you have to do is divide it all by 2

4x/2 = 2x

22/2 = 11

You should have gotten 2x + 11

Next, put parentheses around the expression

(2x + 11)

Do NOT forget to add the amount of what you have divided, and put it outside the parentheses

2(2x + 11)

Your answer: 2(2x + 11)
