Answer:

C y = 4x - 12

Explanation:

(1,-8) means x=1, y=-8

(4,4) means x=4, y=4

so, for which of the offered equations are both pairs right ?

a -8 = 4x1 + 12 = 16 wrong already for the first pair

b -8 = -4x1 - 12 = -16 wrong already for the first pair

c -8 = 4x1 - 12 = -8 hey, right !

4 = 4x4 - 12 = 16 - 12 = 4. hey, right

d -8 = -4x4 + 12 = -16 + 12 = -4. wrong already for the first pair

so, C describes an equation that covers both points. it is a linear function (no squares or so), and so it is a line function passing through both points.
