This is why authors need to treat other people's stories with care and respect and never turn others' lives into fiction without permission. The long history of damaged relationships, painful conflicts, and even lawsuits shows the harm that results when authors tell true stories that involve other people. Instead, authors should do what they do best: concoct amazing tales that inspire, enlighten, and entertain us, all based on their own imaginations.
