So a hotdog is x, a t-shirt is 2x, and a ticket is twice that again, so 4x.

x + 2x + 4x + 2.25 = 32

subtract 2.25 from both sides, combine like terms:

7x = 29.75

divide both sides by 7,

x = 4.25
