We have learned a lot about the childhood and adult experiences of Dorothy Vaughan, Katherine Goble, Mary Jackson, and Christine Mann now. Explain the role that adversity played in shaping these women and influencing who they became personally and professionally by the 1950s.

Her math teacher even told Katherine's parents that she “had never seen a mind like Katherines.” It was important to include these scenes in the film because it helped to develop the audiences understanding. We are able to learn from these scenes that Katherine was no ordinary child and that her future was promising.
