Answer:

Quarter pounder has -580 calories and the Whooper has

1589 calories

Explanation:

Let x represent quarter pounders and y represent the Whoppers.

2 QP and 3 Whoppers provide 3607 calories and one of each provide 1009. so let set up the system

2x + 3y = 3607

x + y = 1009

Apply subsitution method

y = 1009 - x

2x + 3(1009 - x) = 3607

2x + 3027 - 3x = 3607

- x + 3027 = 3607

- x = 580

x = - 580

Plug the system back into one of the equations and we get

y = 1589
