\\ \rm\hookrightarrow 6x^2+20x=2x

\\ \rm\hookrightarrow 6x^2=-18x

\\ \rm\hookrightarrow x^2=-3x

\\ \rm\hookrightarrow x=-3

Solution:

Note that:

  • Length of court = (6x² + 20x)
  • Length of court = 2x(Width of court)

Divide the length of the court by 2x to find the width of the court.

  • Width of court = (6x² + 20x)/2x
  • => Width of court = 6x²/2x + 20x/2x
  • => Width of court = 3x + 10
