The hole for a birdfeeder post is 3 feet deep. The top of the post

needs to be at least 5 feet above the ground. Write and solve an inequality that represents the required length of the post.

Let d be the distance the poles above the ground. Then d >5. The total length of the pole is d + 3 since The pogues 3 ft into the ground. Adding 3 on both sides of d>5 then give d +3>8 so the length of the post is at least 3 ft
