9. What would be an objects weight on Jupiter, if acceleration due to

gravity on Jupiter is 24.5 m/s/s and the object's mass is 5 kg.

Answer:

Fj / Fe = 24.5 / 9.8 acceleration on Jupiter / acceleration on Earth

Fj / Fe = 2.5

Fj / Fe = 2.5 force on Jupiter = 2.5 that on Earth

W = F = M a

W Jupiter) = 5 kg * 9.8 m/s^2 * 2.5 = 122.5 N

or more simply

F = M a = 5 kg * 24.5 m/s^2 = 2=122.5 N
