Answer:

E = 1/2 M V^2 = 1/2 P V since P = M V

E2 / E1 = P2 V2 / (P1 V1)

P2 / P1 = E2 V1 / (E1 V2) = V2^2 V1 / (V1^2 V2) = V2 / V1

E2 / E1 = V2^2 / V1^2

V2 / V1 = (E2 / E1)^1/2

V2 / V1 = (.9)1/2 = .95

The linear momentum would have to decrease by 5%
