Explanation:

You could find the slope of line going through the points (2,-4) and (-1,2). It is

slope is -6/3 or -2

So the line is

Now plug in one of the points and the slope into point slope form and find the line

y+4=-2(x-2) or

y+4=-2x+4 so

y=-2x

Check it by making sure BOTH points are on the line. Plug the values into the equation you found for the line.

-4=-2(2)

2=-2(-1)
