Based on statistics for the past several seasons, the probability that the best player on a basketball team makes a free throw is 8/10. the probability that the second-best player makes a free throw is 13/20. if both players attempt 140 free throws over a season, how many more free throws is the best player expected to make? Please help!!!

Answer:

He is expected to make 21 more free throws

Explanation:

we know that the probability for the best player is 8/10 or 80%

the probability for the second best is 13/20. This is equivalent to 65%

They each attempt 140 free throws.

We need to figure out what 80% of 140 is. To do this, we need to multiply 140 by 0.80. 140 * 0.80 = 112

We do the same for the second best

140 * 0.65 = 91

112 - 91 = 21.

Hope this helped
