Where V = Volume of the rectangular box, l = length of the box, w = width of the box, h = heigth of the box.

From the question,

Substitute these values into equation 1

V = 3×1.2×6

V = 21.6 ft³

A = 2(lw+lh+wh)............. Equation 2

Where A = surface area of the box

Also substituting into equation 2

A = 2[(3×1.2)+(3×6)+(1.2×6)]

A = 2(3.6+18+7.2)

A = 2(28.8)

A = 57.6 ft²

A = 58 ft²
