The big rectangle we need our length times our width we get our width by subtracting 4 from 10 which means w=6, then we need our length, for that we add 12 and then 2 to account for the rest which means l=14, we multiply 14 times 6 which gives you 84 and add the area of the little square (8) so 84 plus 8= 92 multiply that times the cost per yard so (92)(28) and you get $2576
