We were assigned to make a plushie in Art

She gave us some minky to make it. I know with minky, you want to try to not cut the fur fibers, and just cut the backing. I want to cut it out with my cricut, so I was wondering
Do I put the fur side of the minky down when cutting it? or is it the opposite
I have the rotary cutter for cricut

Final answer:

When cutting minky fabric with a Cricut and a rotary cutter attachment, place the fur side down so the blade cuts through the backing. Adjust the pressure settings accordingly and perform a test cut to ensure correct settings without damaging the fur or the machine.

Step-by-step explanation:

When using a Cricut machine with a rotary cutter attachment to cut minky fabric for a plushie, you will generally want to place the fur side down.

This is to ensure that the backing, which is easier to cut cleanly, is facing up towards the blade. It is important to note that the pressure settings on your Cricut may need to be adjusted to account for the thickness and plush nature of minky fabric to avoid cutting through the fur fibers unnecessarily and to prevent damage to the machine.

Always do a test cut on a small piece of the fabric to find the right settings before cutting out your actual project pieces.
