Explanation:

2x+y=3

y=3-2x.....eqn (1)

x=3y+5.....eqn(2)

substituting the value of y from eqn 1

x=3(3-2x)+5

x=9-6x+5

x+6x=14

7x=14

x=14/7

x=2

substituting the value of x in eqn 1

y=3-2×2

y=3-4

y=-1

therefore,

x=2

y=-1
