A certain farmer from Limuru selling milk at Kangemi Market has found that the 1⁄4 litre pack is the most

popular, selling at Ksh10. From his farm records he has calculated the cost per liter of milk as Ksh16.
Transport and packaging cost per 1⁄4 pack is Ksh 2.00. Number of sales follows a normal distribution.
During week days, 150 of packets are sold per day and 60% of the time, the sales range from 100 to
200. Those not sold by 7.00pm are sold to a night hawker at Ksh4 a packet. However during the end of
the week 120 of packets are sold per day and 75% of the time, the sales range from 90 to 150. Those
not sold are given to a near by orphanage for free:
i) How many 1⁄4-packets should the farmers produce per day during the week?
ii) How many 1⁄4-packets should the farmers produce per day during the end of the week?
