C. Replicating plasmids.

We can isolate a particular gene of interest and then use certain enzymes to introduce this gene into a bacterial plasmid (circular DNA within the bacteria) to create a recombinant plasmid. We can then grow a culture of bacteria from the bacteria containing the recombinant plasmid. The result will be a colony of bacteria which will express the gene that was introduced into the plasmid.
