When a constant force acts upon an object, the acceleration of the object varies inversely with its mass. When a certain constant force acts upon an object with mass 7 kg, the acceleration of the object is
8 m/s^(2). If the same force acts upon another object whose mass is 4 kg, what is this object's acceleration?

Answer:

14m/
s^(2)

Explanation:

F = ma

Mass1: F1 = (7kg)*(8m/
s^(2))

Mass2: F2 = (4kg)*a

The same force, so F1 = F2

(7kg)*(8m/
s^(2)) = (4kg)*a

a = (7kg)*(8m/
s^(2))/(4kg)

a = (7/4)*(8m/
s^(2))

a = 14m/
s^(2)
