This came about as for a when we added the total number of expenditures that CeCe had made that is 1/3 + 2/5 + 1/9 and that is 38/45 so that is the fraction of money that she said that she spent in the local shop.

as for b it said what fraction of sissies money does she have left and we know that the total fraction is 38 over 45 and we are going to subtract it from 1.

and that will give us 7/45
