Solve the following quadratic equation by factoring.
x^2 - 7x = 18

Answer: (x-9)(x+2)

Subtract 18 from both sides. x^2-7x-18
Find two factors that will multiple to get -18 and add up to be -7. -9 x 2 is -18 and -9+2=-7.
