Could a man with Type O be the father of a Type AB child? Explain.

Answer:

No, because someone with blood type O has the genotype OO because O is recessive. One parents would need one allele to be A and the other parent would need one allele to be B for the child to be AB. But the man does not have an A or B allele, so it is not possible for him to be the father of a child with blood type AB.
