60% of the animals at a pet shop are dogs. If there are 42 dogs at the shop, then how many animals are there altogether?

60/100 * x = 42

Look carefully at how this is written. You have so many pets (x) in the shop.

Multiply the equation by 100

60x = 4200

Divide by 60
