Please somebody should help me for my assignment the question is on equation with fraction. A father is 24 yrs older than his son. (a) if the son is x yrs old,how old is the father. (b) if the ratio of their ages is 5:2,find the age of the son?​

Let Father be x and Son be y.

If their ratio of their age is 5:2 then

Find Y:

2x = 5y

• x = 5y/2
• 5y/2 = y+24
• 5y= 2y + 48
• 5y-2y = 48
• 3y=48
• y=48/3
• y = 16

Find X

1. x=y+24
2. x=16+24
3. x=40
